One of the ways in which the Merck Frosst library provides researchers with access to information is through hundreds of databases and information sources. These major worldwide systems focus on every aspect of scientific development and keep Merck Frosst personnel out at the forefront of industry trends and knowledge.

The library subscribes to numerous commercial databases through a variety of vendors, as well as providing database systems that have been developed in-house. Literature, patent, chemical structure and business intelligence searches are a regular part of the research librarians' work day. Library staff also evaluates and selects the most useful newly available information technologies, and trains researchers on their use.
